Top 13 Favorite Games

13. Shikigami No Shiro 2 - DC/Xbox - Alfa System - Excellent game mechanics and a devilish scoring system make this top down shooter brilliant, if somewhat short. Thankfully short, that is. It's hard to memorize bullet patterns. Simple mechanics, wonderful gameplay.

12. The Longest Journey - PC - Funcom - A strong story makes this game a must play. The main character is likeable, relatable, and the ending is fitting. Nice graphics make this one good, but some screens are somewhat unecessary and slow loading.

11. Frontline - NES - Unknown - Simple colors and gameplay, but I love the tank.

10. Startopia - PC - Mucky Foot - It's like theme park. With guns. And you can hire ANYBODY.

9. Dance Dance Revolution 5th Mix - Konami - PS2 - Enough said.

8. Star Control II - PC - Accolade - Best space strategy game ever.

7. Guilty Gear X2 - PS2/Xbox - Sammy - See review.

6. Unreal Tournament - PC - Epic Games- Sometimes shooting is nice. And well, assault mode is the kicker.

5. Final Fantasy X - PS2 - Squaresoft - Enough said.

4. Sam and Max Hit the Road - PC - LucasArts- Brilliant writing, hilarious humor, strong characters. I hope there wasn't anybody on that bus.

3. Neverwinter Nights - PC - Bioware - D&D comes to the computer. And done right, with strong C based scripting.

2. Katamari Damacy - PS2 - Namco - Simple game concept brings the olden days back into the wonders of today. Roll everything up!

1. Attempting to get an external IDE controller to work with any given motherboard - PC - SiS Technology - Possibly the most difficult game ever created, the graphics suck, but there's just something about laughing at people playing this game that totally rocks. Entertainment value A+. It has one of the most involving and convoluted plots ever concieved. Install the hardware, the operating system rejects it. Drivers must be installed to install the operating system, but how can you install a driver with a fresh hard drive? Then, once you think you have it figured out, random data corruption! It's the sound card! No, the processor, no, the bus! Thousands of variations, infinite replayability. It's like an MMORPG without the monthly fee.
